This month we welcome oil painter Nick Martello. He recently won an award at the Oceanside Plein air event last week. He will be demonstrating energetic brushwork on a loose oil still life, and work from a set up with proper lighting.

Fernando Perez
We welcome back all our returning members and new attendees for our Monday night 7:30pm September 8 meeting for Orange Art Association, where we will feature award winning acrylic artist Fernando Perez. He is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton and currently teaches art for the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. He will be showing his unique approach to acrylic Plein air painting, although working from a photo for us. He is a member of Socalpapa and Lpapa.

Mark Jacobucci
OAA members enjoyed an oil painting demo by Mark, a nationally known and award-winning oil painter, landscape painter.
Mark’s paintings have adorned various prestigious galleries and are held in esteemed collections, including the permanent exhibit at the Hilbert Museum of California Art.
Mark is member of Lpapa, Socal Papa, California Art Club, Studio 7 Gallery, Laguna Beach, and Scene Gallery, Newport Beach.
One lucky member got to take home a small, original gouache painting by Mark.

Hyun Kim

Members were fortunate to be taught by Hyun Kim. She explored composition, value, hue and other basics before starting. During the painting process, she talked about reflections, light sources, shadow, and other things she considers when composing a new piece.

Echo Baker
OAA Members enjoyed watching Echo paint a portrait from a photograph. One lucky member got to take home her choice of the unfinished painting from the demo, or a different painting that Echo brought. The recipient chose the unfinished painting, which was remarkable for such a short demo painting time. Amazing!
