About Orange Art Association

Orange Art Association (Orange, CA)

Statement of Purpose

The Orange Art Association was established in 1970 in Orange, CA as a tax-exempt corporation. The primary goals of our association are to foster a better understanding of fine art by the public, to encourage students to pursue art as a career through our scholarship program and to continually challenge our members to strive for excellence and fulfillment.

Ways OAA Serves the Community

OAA is involved in the community in several ways.

Orange Open Show

Every August, with the help of individuals and businesses who donate, the OAA hosts the ‘Orange Open’, a juried show open to all artists, at the Guggenheim Gallery at Chapman University. With over 350 combined pieces of artwork entered, selected artists have an opportunity to exhibit and sell their art.

A generous donation from the proceeds from the Orange Open show is presented in the form of scholarships for Chapman University art students in December at the Chapman student art show.

Rotating Art Program

We have our ‘Rotating Art’ program that gives emerging artists an opportunity to exhibit and sell their artwork at local venues such as City Hall and Businesses.

Community Support

We donate time and money to various organizations throughout the community.

Free Classes

Volunteers from OAA teach free classes throughout the community to inspire local citizens to enjoy art and perhaps get involved by doing something creative and artistic.

The best thing of all, the members go above and beyond to help one another and the community. We are creative and talented artists with integrity and giving hearts and just plain fun to be with!
